Our Vision

For the first few years, our main objective was to build awareness, and develop and strengthen our relationships within our community with both customers and vendors. These values will always be at our core. But we don’t want to stop there...

Here’s how we’re trying to build our food community and achieve our vision...

Our Vendors

We’ve been developing relationships with our vendors since 2013. The vendor partnerships we represent are built on respect and trust. We endeavor to know all of our vendors personally and to help them flourish by sharing insights and feedback from customers.

Get to know 100% of our vendors better.

Meet with them at least once per year.

Our Customers

We are focused on our relationship with you and your experience with us. We want to be a trusted partner in your pet food purchases over weeks, months and years.

Achieve a 5/5 ranking from our customers.

Provide monthly “Info Sessions” on varied and interesting topics related to Pet Care to keep you informed.

Our Community

Our community is made up of well-informed pet owners. We see the average lifespan of dogs on the decline. For example, in the 1970’s the average lifespan was 17 years but is currently only 11 years. We are very concerned by this trend.

Create change.

Help get the message out that we really are what we eat: both humans and pets. Introducing real food into your pet’s life can make a huge difference. Recognizing that everyone won’t be willing to switch to a raw diet, spreading the word that even adding just some real food can make a difference.

Leftovers in your fridge? With few exceptions, throw these into your dog’s dish instead of throwing them out. While grocery shopping for yourself, how about picking up a little extra for your pet?

It is believed that adding leafy greens three times a week to a processed diet may reduce the risk of cancer by up to 80%!

We will donate a minimum of 1% of our annual profits to various causes, including the WWF.

Our Team

We value our colleagues and strive to make Barkside Bistro a great place to work. This includes paying fairly, treating people with kindness and respect and not taking ourselves too seriously!

Our Company

We believe business can be a source for good. We hold ourselves accountable to much more than profit.

Since we opened, it has been our goal to become certified as a “B Corporation”. B Corps are for-profit companies certified by the non-profit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It’s kinda like this: B Corp is to business what Fair Trade certification is to food.
