Some dogs may tolerate only pure meat, and its all that a cat requires. If you are just starting on raw, introduce your dog to pure meats first. You can try dinner options after that once you have confirmed that your dog does well on a certain protein.
No refrigerator? No problem. Raw food is the easiest food for your pet to digest, but in times when you are travelling, or for other reasons cannot feed raw, here are some great alternatives that are second best to a raw selection.
Joints feed joints. Meal replacement bones are a great source of Glucosamine and Chondroitin, as well as Calcium and Phosphorus in balance. All of these bones are non-weight bearing which are gentler on teeth, plus they are a supplementary source of fibre. (Yup! Fibre!)
Make the most of play time with recreational bones which are typically weight-bearing bones, meaning they are dense, making them effective for teeth cleaning. Treat them like toys, so supervision is always recommended.
All carnivores instinctually want protein, and 25% of dogs will even turn their nose up at non-meat treats! So a healthy pet is well suited to protein treats.
